Beginner’s barre chord lesson – learning it the easy way in 2 minutes
These are by far the most useful lessons on how to learn barre chords I’ve come across. Special thanks to Douglas Niedt for posting them up.
In this video, Douglas gives a tip for holding the barre chord that will make it MUCH easier and will prevent you from getting hand fatigue.
In this video, Douglas talks about a common idea for holding barre chords with your arm weight, that is actually not very effective but widely spouted off by guitar “teachers”
In tihs video, Douglas explains why you’re already using arm strength, but maybe don’t realize it.
This last video is a killer one. Douglas basically troubleshoots every possible problem you’re likely to run into and tells you how to fix it. This will save you hours of frustration trying to figure it out yourself. Do yourself a favor and watch this.
That’s it. That’s all the information you really need to master barre chords. If you’re still having trouble, don’t worry. Keep working on it. Barre chords did not come overnight for me either. I just kept at it until I got it down. These videos should speed that up for you.
If you want to learn more about guitar techniques, theory, and pick up a few more tunes, take a look at this course. These lessons will make the learning curve easier.
