7 biggest complaints about guitar

by Johnny

Hey it’s Johnny,

I get it.

Sometimes there are things that get in the way. And you can’t give the guitar the focus it deserves.

Fair enough.

It happens to everyone, even the pros.

BUT… if you’re really serious about getting good (fast) at the guitar, you need to dispose of all the complaints below.

So without further ado, here are…

The 7 Biggest Complaints About Guitar (that in reality don’t apply):

1. “I don’t have time”

Wait, you don’t have 30-45 minutes a day to learn a life-changing skill that will give you rewards beyond your imagination for years to come?

Alright, then forget it I guess…

2. “I don’t have talent”

As much as this goes against common belief…

Talent is not a requirement to become great at playing guitar.

This has been proven time and again, by thousands of people (myself included). It’s been studied, tested, dissected, and analyzed a hundred different ways.

Entire books have been written about it (Talent is Overrated, The Talent Code, etc)

At this point, we’re almost 100% positive that:

Talent or not – you can learn the guitar and even master it.

3. “It’s too hard”

If you can learn to read and write, speak the English language fluently, and drive a car…

You already have everything it takes to learn the guitar.

Here’s all you need:

* the mental ability to learn language (the musical language)

* the physical ability to form useful habits

That’s it.

What’s REALLY hard is… practicing the guitar without a clear plan… and expecting instant results.

That’s where most people go wrong.

And they give up before it even gets good.

4. “It’s too slow and takes forever”

Learning the guitar DOES require some patience.

But not a lot.

You see, if you learn the guitar the way I teach it…

You’re actually going to be playing something FUN a lot sooner than usual.

Because I get you to FOCUS on the right stuff.

So you’re not aimlessly wandering from tab site to tab site, looking for your next fix.

You get up and running with your first song.

Then you master it in a few weeks (shorter or longer depending on you).

And you’re playing something (well) for your buddies after just a short time.

No learning a whole bunch of theoretical nonsense before you play your first song.

Not here. Not ever.

So yes, it will take months and probably years to become the guitar player you’ve always dreamed of…

But… you’ll still have a blast getting there. So why rush?

5. “My hands are too small”

Yeah you’re right.

Probably best to give up.

Oh but before you do… Maybe you can take a look at this video…

6. “I can’t afford lessons”

Good point.

So you should probably teach YOURSELF.

Like each of these sad souls, forced to successfully learn on their own:

* Jimi Hendrix

* Eric Clapton

* Stevie Ray Vaughan

* Eddie Van Halen

* Slash

* BB King

* Marty Friedman

What’s that?

You don’t want to…

7. “I don’t wanna form bad habits”
